Over the years, Meridian has been involved in the construction of large public works such as Power Plant stations and the Terrence Lettsome airport at Beef Island, BVI.

Pockwood Pond Power Station Extension

Meridian Construction was the civil contractor on the Phase 5 expansion. Meridian built all the structural elements which included excavating into the hill and removing 25,000 m3 of soil and rock; concrete foundations for engines, exhaust stacks, fuel tanks and transformers: structural steel control rooms an engine hall. The work also included the fitting out and infrastructure.

Sewage Treatment Pump Station

This work was technically difficult as the pump station, located at a depth of 25’, is situated on reclaimed land and below the water table. Additionally the subsurface is running, waterlogged sand.
